Jigawa State Pensioners Request Minimum Pension as the State Government Signs Minimum Wage for Workers.

Jigawa State Council of Pensioners has demanded a minimum pension of N20,000 for its members as the state government approved the payment of N30,000 new minimum wage for its workers.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chairman of the Union, Com. Abdullahi Tsoho Garba, in Dutse. He explained that some pensioners in the state were currently receiving less than N3,000 as their monthly pension.

He said, “we demand for a minimum pension of N20,000 to pensioners. We all go to the same market and what is good for the goose is good for the gander. We call on pensioners to be calm and prayerful as we are doing anything possible to protect their interest.”
