Osun State approves N927m for Pension

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has approved the release of N927 million for the payment of pensions to retirees in the state.

This was contained in a statement by the Head of Service, Dr. Festus Oyebade, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Oyebade said that of the N927 million approved, N877 million would be used for the settlement of bonuses of retired primary school teachers, local government workers and retired civil servants, who are under the Contributory Pension Scheme.

He said that the remaining N50 million was approved for payment to retirees under the old pension scheme.

According to him, the names of the retired workers selected for their merits have been posted on the bulletin boards of the Local Government Pension Office, the Civil Service Pension Office, the Ministry of Information and the Office of the Service Chief.

Oyebade reiterated the government’s commitment to the well-being and general well-being of the people, particularly state workers.

“Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola will always put the welfare of the workers at Osun first,” he said.
