Rivers State Pensioners Protest non Payment of Pension Arrears.

Rivers State Pensioners from 2012 to 2015 have staged a peaceful protest within the Rivers State Secretariat over nonpayment of their pension arrears since 2012 to date.

The retirees confirmed that the government recently placed them on monthly pension allowance but had allegedly refused to pay their accumulated pension arrears. The retirees pleaded with the state government to find a way to pay the pension arrears in batches if they can’t pay it at once, to enable them meet their financial obligations.
