Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Approves over N1.4bn for Pension Payment

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the payment of over N1.4bn to retired primary school teachers and local government workers in the state.

The cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries at the conference room of the Local Government Service Commission, by the Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, Alhaji Fatai Oladeinde, who represented the Head of Service, Alhaja Hamidat Agboola.

The Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, Alhaji Fatai Oladeinde, disclosed that about 1,000 pensioners from primary schools and local government areas, who retired between 2010 and 2012, were captured as beneficiaries.

He said, “The present administration is not oblivious of the hardship, pains and challenges being faced by our senior citizens as a result of their unpaid benefits over the years. Governor Seyi Makinde has therefore resolved to face the challenge squarely. All he needs from us is our support and prayers so as to take the state to greater heights.”
