Nigeria Pension Industry RSA Registration Hits 11.23 Million as at 30 April 2026
The Nigerian pension industry maintained its steady growth trajectory into the second quarter of 2026, with total Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registrations rising to 11,232,192 as at 30 April 2026. This represents continued expansion of pension enrollment under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), reflecting sustained onboarding of workers across the public, private and informal sectors.
April 2026 Performance
In April 2026, the industry recorded a monthly increase of 49,222 new RSA registrations, representing a 0.44% growth rate over the March 2026 figure of 11,182,970. This performance is consistent with the strong momentum recorded in the preceding month, with April maintaining the same growth rate as March 2026 (0.44%) and remaining among the top-performing months within the past 12 months.
The sustained performance in April 2026 suggests that Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs), employers, and industry stakeholders continued to intensify enrollment drives and compliance efforts into the second quarter of 2026.

Industry Outlook
The continued increase in RSA registrations reflects growing awareness of retirement planning and expanding participation in the Contributory Pension Scheme. Increased compliance monitoring, onboarding of informal sector participants, and digital registration initiatives are likely contributing factors behind the sustained growth trend. With registrations now firmly above the 11.2 million mark, the industry appears on track to approach the 11.5 million threshold within the coming months if current momentum is maintained.
