PTAD gives Reason for Delay in August Monthly Pension Payment, Update 2 – Status of NITEL Payment Confirmed by New PTAD ES
NITEL and MTEL pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) who are on Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) monthly pension payroll have complained severally that they are yet to receive July monthly pension payment.
Pensioners and other stakeholders have sent several messages to PTAD without receiving any reason for the delay of the NITEL and MTEL pensioners July and August monthly pension payment.
PTAD has now disclosed that the delay in the August 2019 Monthly Pension payment is due to technical issues beyond the Directorate’s control and PTAD is working tirelessly with other relevant agencies to resolve the problem.
However, PTAD in their communication or the numerous comments sent to them, did not confirm if this is the cause for the delay in July monthly pension payment to NITEL and MTEL pensioners.
We have also received reports that, the former Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) Sharon Ikeazor, advised some NITEL/MTEL pensioners to contact their Union head for briefing on the reason why their monthly pension payment have stopped.

Update 1
We are receiving unconfirmed reports that some NITEL/MTEL pensioners have started receiving credit alerts for July monthly pension payment, so, endeavor to check your bank account before going to the Union.
Update 2
The new Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has now confirmed that NITEL pensioners have been paid their pension for the month of July 2019, she apologized for the delayed response and also said that they are finalizing payment for August 2019 and NITEL pensioners will start receiving the alerts for the August 2019 monthly pension in the next week or two.
