The Institute’s quest for accountability and integrity will form the pillar of deliberations during the workshop sessions at the forthcoming 49th Annual Accountants’ Conference holding in Abuja.
The need to evolve a sustainable development model will be examined by the numerous experts expected at the conference from the private and public sectors of the economy. While one paper will examine public accountability as a driver of transparent leadership and Governance, another will look at Integrity and meritocracy as imperative for political leadership in the country.
One of the sessions is dedicated to the examination of recent developments and opportunities for Nigeria and Chartered accountants in sustainability. The workshop sessions will end with a frank discussion on the powers of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). This segment will critically examine FIRS’ power of substitution and matters arising there from. Participants have been assured of a robust and frank inter-change of ideas during the four-day conference.
