There are reports that Ekiti State House of Assembly may be working on enacting a law to provide monthly life pensions for its members.
Findings by Punch correspondent revealed that Ekiti State House of Assembly had started considering moves towards sending the bill to Governor Kayode Fayemi.
It was learnt that the issue which is already at the parliamentary stage had been discussed by the lawmakers.
The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, who spoke with Punch correspondent from Johannesburg, South Africa on the telephone on Wednesday, confirmed the move.
He said, “There is no such law in Ekiti as we speak but it is under consideration because we have debated it and members are considering it.”
