Ex Imo Governors and Speakers Threaten current Governor over repealed Life Pension Law, alleges Corruption in the amount spent on their Pension

Issues have arise from the decision of the IMO State Government to cancel pensions and privileges of former Governors, Deputy Governors, Speakers and Deputy speakers of Imo State as beneficiaries have threatened court action against the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Also, a beneficiary who spoke on conditions of anonymity said what the state government pays them as pension put together is not up to N7million (seven million naira) as against the billions of naira it alleged to pay the ex-government functionaries.

This points to the fact that a lot of corruption might also have occurred in the payment of pension to the past political office holders since details of all the payments made to them are always kept as top secrete.

It has been reported that some of the beneficiaries are very aggrieved and are making moves to drag the Governor to court. They vowed to take the Governor to court if nothing is done about their case.
