Lagos State to distribute Welfare Packages to Pensioners

The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) in line with its statutory responsibilities to supervise pension matters and ensure the welfare of pensioners in the State amongst others, will be distributing welfare packages to some pensioners across 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Authorities in the 5 Divisions of the State namely: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe (IBILE) in the 1st Phase of the Annual Pensioners’ Welfare Package on Thursday, 19th May, 2023.

This is in furtherance to the present administration’s Themes Agenda Pillar of “Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy”. Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu aims to give back and improve the standard of living of the Lagos State Public Service Pensioners who have served meritoriously and selflessly for 35 years or attained 60 years of age.

Lagos State is committed to the welfare of its workforce and appreciates the invaluable contributions of its retirees who have sustained the State as a “Centre of Excellence”. Gov Jide Sanwo Olu is aware of the current global economic challenges and its impact on our dear retirees and will continue to promote policies to advance the rights of vulnerable groups in our society and protect the financial freedom of our senior citizens.
