Total RSA Registration as at 30 November 2022
National Pension Commission (PenCom) has disclosed that the total number of Retirement Savings Account (RSA) Registrations as at 30 November 2022 is 9,841,601, this shows a decrease of 8,493 for the Month of November 2022 compared to the 9,850,094 as at 31 October 2022.
Though PenCom did not state the reason for the month on month decrease of 8,493, it is most likely linked with the Data Recovery Exercise (DRE) which could have revealed duplicate RSAs which were subsequently invalidated. Where duplicate RSAs invalidated in a month are greater than the RSA registrations for the month, it will result in a month on month decrease.
The average RSA registrations for the past twelve (12) months is 27,588.
PenCom only released the total number of RSA Registration as at 30 November 2022 in its monthly report for November 2022, without any breakdown. We look forward to a time when the Regulator, National Pension Commission (PenCom) will release the monthly report for RSA Registrations per Fund, per Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) along with the breakdown based on Age and Gender. This will enable stakeholders and industry analyst measure PFA performance based on RSA registrations per Fund, along age brackets, sector and gender, on monthly basis.
